What happens in a health assessment?

When is the last time you have had a thorough health assessment? Have you been putting it off even though you know that you should probably have one done to make sure everything is in working order? At NEX Wellness, we are always encouraging our patients to get a health assessment done on a yearly basis. Why would you not want to know how your body is doing and how your levels are? Health assessments are very beneficial to understand why you may be feeling under the weather or in which ways your body is lacking something it needs for optimal performance. Additionally, health assessments are great for women to check on their hormone levels. A medical history update

During your health assessment at a health and wellness clinic, your practitioner will go over your medical history with you. They will have requested your medical records so that they can go over them with you to talk about your health issues in the past, how they were treated or currently being treated, and what could possibly be done to change the course of treatment with natural remedies and therapies. Your practitioner will also ask you about your current health and if there is anything you want to address.

Measurements

Your practitioner will then take your weight, blood pressure, heart rate, and other measurements that will be used to update your file. These measurements give the practitioner a good idea of where you are at health-wise and if there are any alarming findings.

Medications

Your practitioner will then ask you about your medication history. They will ask you what you have taken for ailments in the past and what you are taking currently. They want to know if you are taking your medication as prescribed by your physician, and your thoughts about any side effects, and how the medication is working for you.

Health education

Your practitioner will take all of the information collected and begin to educate you about your current health status. They can give you feedback about things like your diet, lifestyle, exercise levels, and highlight areas of improvement. They can also suggest other treatment options and remedies that are natural.
